In 2006 the Supreme Court of Victoria made the following observation, below, that distinguishes between the criticism of ideas from the holder of those ideas. 

A judge of the Supreme Court of Victoria (Kyrou) made a ruling against this author. Kyrou's ruling disregarded that distinction by claiming that the presentation of historical material constituted a "comparison" of character. Kyrou's past utterances are that the ideas held by an individual (like one's religion) constitute one's identity, and that criticism of these ideas constitutes crtiticism of one's identity. The Tribunal appears to me to have assumed that the two conceptions are identical or at least that hatred or other relevant emotion of or towards the religious beliefs of Muslims must invariably result in hatred or other relevant emotion of or towards Muslims. In my view, that is not so. 33 ... It is essential to keep the distinction between the hatred of beliefs and the hatred of their adherents steadily in view.[26] Beyond that, it is a matter for the law of defamation or the law relating to misrepresentation and misleading and deceptive conduct or, possibly, criminal sanctions. 35 The third difficulty with the Tribunal’s reasoning, as I perceive it, is that the Tribunal’s failure to observe the distinction between hatred of beliefs and hatred of adherents to beliefs has resulted in the Tribunal deciding the matter on the basis that the Seminar was not a "balanced" discussion of Muslim beliefs...

Let's extrapolate from this finding:

If Hitler is "abhorrent", then so too is the religion that guided him: CHRISTIANITY

If, "to associate anyone with the views of Hitler is to profoundly damage their reputation", then demonstrating that Hitler committed the genocide because of Christianity means the reputation of Christianity has been "profoundly damaged".

Hitler did what he did because he was Christian, and NOT FOR THE REASONS GIVEN BY KYROU (finding no. 307).

The Old Testament repeatedly refers to the Jews as the race chosen by god. According to the Old Testament, (which is not supplanted by the New Testament) non-Jewish Christians could never be the people of god because they are not Jews. Criticism of these Biblical passages was part of the 2009 Humanist Transhumanist exhibiton that Kyrou described as "offensive". The conundrum that allowed for non-Jews to be Christians was resolved by doctrine, the book of the Apocrypha, Ecclesiasticus 10.8 which reads:

“’Because of unrighteous dealings, injuries, and riches got by deceit, the kingdom is translated from one people to another...And this sovereignty over regnum and sacerdotium the Son of God committed to Peter and to his successors.”

Hitler believed, on doctrinal grounds, that "Aryans" were the race to whom god's kingdom is translated, and genocide is ordered in the Old Testament.

I have the right to receive and impart information - such as history which is already in the public domain - and no judge has the right to assert what ever is their personal belief of what "history" is or what they want it to be and to cause to be made unavailable to others that information that is already in the public domain.

A belief is not the equivalent to a logical corollary. And, a logical corollary is not "an opinion". Australia's judiciary conflate these concepts and deem them to be of the same meaning.
